SUMMARY

Module 5: Personal Training

Develops and delivers customized fitness programs forclients in both in-person and virtual environments, with a focus on strength,endurance, flexibility, and holistic wellness. Conducts comprehensiveassessments, monitors progress and provides ongoing motivation and education onproper technique and sustainable lifestyle habits.

Must hold current certifications in one of the following:

  • NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine)
  • ACE (American Council on Exercise)
  • NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), or ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association)
  • NCSF
  • ACSM
  • ISSA
  • AFPA
  • NPTI
  • CPT

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

  • Provides instruction to students and community members.
  • Develops and presents the department with a curriculum that provides students with a full experience and is structured to accommodate all fitness levels.
  • Sets up in preparation for and cleans up after each class.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Certifications/licenses, as applicable by discipline
  • Required CPR/first aid certifications.
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Possess basic knowledge of fundamental subject area concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to apply in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of the class Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the community.

  • Associate's degree in related field
  • Demonstrated experience with community-based instruction.
  • Professional presentation skills

Special Note: Set-RateNon-Bargaining Part-Time Position: This is aPart-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $30.00/hour.

If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
