Position Summary

This position will be responsible for daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounting processes and procedures, including maintaining internal controls in accordance with Company policies to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). The role involves assisting in the completion of the financial closing process, ensuring the compilation of complete, accurate, and timely financial statements and supporting records, such as account reconciliations and related analysis, each month in accordance with US GAAP.

Essential Functions

  1. Assist the Controller and Assistant Controller in preparing monthly consolidated financial statements and related analyses on a timely basis, requiring a basic understanding of the business, financial reporting, and GAAP principles.
  2. Prepare assigned monthly journal entries ensuring accuracy of the General Ledger.
  3. Prepare assigned monthly General Ledger account reconciliations within BlackLine, ensuring reconciling items are appropriately supported and differences are resolved promptly.
  4. Perform ongoing analyses and tracking of accruals, including coordinating monthly department meetings to assist in the determination of accrued liabilities and the reasonableness of reported expenses compared to forecasts/budgets and prior periods.
  5. Assist finance management in evaluating processes and related controls to ensure effective, efficient, and consistent operations.
  6. Assist with periodic reviews of controls and processes to maintain SOX compliance.
  7. Perform Great Plains System administrative tasks, including account setup, opening and closing of accounting periods, and system testing as required.
  8. Additional monthly responsibilities include assisting with reserve analyses, recording daily cash activities, analyzing customer rebates, ensuring transaction compliance with US GAAP, and supporting tax data collection and scheduling to comply with tax regulations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and training.
  • Data and financial analysis skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with high initiative.
  • Problem-solving experience.
  • Strong Excel and basic PC skills.
  • Willingness to travel 5%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to walk, sit, or stand as needed.
  • Ability to bend and push/pull occasionally.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
