Network Engineer

Description:

You will be a network engineer, collaborating with various teams to make keep enterprise and service provider networks operating smoothly. You will engage with multiple teams to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a highly distributed environment, while contributing to process improvement and automation. Your customer service skills combined with technical foundation in server hardware, networks and system administration will be invaluable as you work towards maintaining network operations. Responsibilities:

  • Support triage, troubleshooting, and repair of global production network elements.

  • Services include server repair, software/firmware repairs, circuit repair, and network repair - facilitating fault identification, isolation, troubleshooting of physical/logical issues, issue resolution, and configuration updates.

  • Work across global teams in a collaborative formation to engage in complex problem solving, issue management, and root cause analysis utilizing standard procedures.

  • Follow defined procedures and utilize tools to collect data and resolve issues within defined SLAs. Engage with 3rd party vendors, OEMs, and field services to facilitate resolution.

  • Escalate to Tier 2 and Operations Engineering leadership to resolve complex or high priority issues.

  • Identify and support development of continuous improvement initatives across process, tooling, data, or automation.

  • Continuously adapt and evolve with service needs and infrastructure.

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 25% to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of network engineering experience.

  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues using, diagnostics, logs, reports and configurations.

  • Ability to consistently execute MOPs for network and server troubleshooting, triage, and repair.

  • Understanding of common server components and software, including Linux OS, BIOS and kernel knowledge

  • Understanding of network routing and switching technologies and protocols including IPV4/IPV6, TCP/IP, VLAN, BGP, DNS.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Linux/Unix Shell.

  • Familiarity with network and server hardware OEMs including Arista, Juniper, Cisco, HPE

  • Competence to certify on CompTIA, CCNA/JNCIA, CCNP/JNCIP or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

  • Software development experience (Python preferred)

  • Data analysis and visualization experience

  • Experience with network automation platforms and services (Ansible, Terraform).

  • Experience with RPA and AI services for operations.

  • Technical network & systems certifications (CCNA, JNCIA, ACE, CompTIA)

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York or Washington as set forth below.
