Intro:
Since 1963, Sheakley has been a trusted leader in safety management across high-risk construction and industrial environments. We are hiring a Safety Manager to support comprehensive EHS oversight on a multi-trade construction site in Jeffersonville, OH. This role involves daily field oversight of electrical contractors, carpenters working at height, and civil crews performing site and trench work. Ideal candidates will bring strong field experience, knowledge of tie-off systems, energized work, and trench safety compliance.
Compensation:
💲 Rate: $50-$52/hr (Local)
💲 Rate: $48-$50/hr (Travel)
🍽 Per Diem: $125/day
💸 Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule:
🕒 Hours: 55 hours/week
📅 Schedule: Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
📆 Occasional Saturdays (approximately 60% of the time)
Project Scope:
This role provides direct safety oversight for multiple subcontractors working across:
Electrical system energization and panel installation
Elevated ceiling work requiring 100% tie-off and point load awareness
Civil site work with trenching, soil type classification, and trench box setup
Heavy equipment operations requiring active field hazard monitoring
Daily CO and LEL atmospheric readings
The Safety Manager will coordinate closely with subcontractor safety staff and client teams to ensure full site compliance and safe execution of work.
Qualifications:
✅ OSHA 510 and First Aid/CPR certification (Required)
✅ CHST, CSP, Fall Protection Competent, and MEWP certification (Preferred)
Additional Requirements:
✅ Active Workers' Compensation policy (required for 1099s)
✅ Ability to be in the field 90% of the day
✅ Personal laptop or tablet for documentation
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage daily jobsite safety for electrical, carpentry, and civil contractors
Enforce safety procedures for trenching, elevated work, and energization activities
Conduct and document daily CO and LEL readings
Lead toolbox talks, orientations, and refresher trainings
Perform inspections and submit reports in accordance with project and client protocols
Collaborate with subcontracted safety teams to drive compliance
Skills:
Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards
Practical understanding of electrical safety, trench safety, fall protection, and excavation controls
Excellent communication and leadership abilities in active construction environments
Ability to identify hazards and implement solutions quickly and effectively
Knowledge Base:
Expertise in high-risk construction environments with a focus on electrical, excavation, and multi-trade safety. Working knowledge of OSHA 1926, including Subparts K, M, and P.
