Program Overview: The Columbus Zoo Summer Camp program serves children in grades 1-7. Students participating in this work-based learning opportunity will assist the Summer Camp staff.
Qualifications
Ability to work well with children.
Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive camp environment.
Ability to balance multiple assignments successfully.
Ability to work in varied weather conditions (e.g., extreme heat, rain).
Ability to maintain courteous and helpful behavior.
Ability to maintain appropriate employee appearance (refer to uniform guidelines in the employee handbook).
Subject to Drug Free Workplace Policy.
Subject to Criminal Background check and fingerprinting.
Responsibilities
Assist with the instruction of planned lessons and activities for children in grades 1-7.
Prepare classroom, teaching materials, and art supplies.
Set up and clean-up program activities and/or snacks.
Participate in Zoo walks and assist with the supervision of campers while on Zoo grounds.
Attend mandatory training on June 14, 2025.
Work Monday through Thursday from June 16, 2025, to July 11, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. There is an option to apply to extend this role until August 8, 2025.
Perform other duties as assigned.
