Job Title: Calibration Technician
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 06+ Months
The Calibration Technician will perform routine work related to the calibration, maintenance and repair of general-purpose measuring and test equipment in the fields of electrical, fluid quantities, mechanical, mass, thermodynamics, time and frequency, and other Metrology disciplines. The Calibration Technician will maintain detailed accurate records of all tasks including calibration certificates.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
•Performing calibration, maintenance and repair of general-purpose measuring and test equipment in the fields of electrical, fluid quantities, mechanical, mass, thermodynamics, time and frequency and other Metrology disciplines.
• Performing work in accordance with established procedures
• Must have consistent, steady hand coordination for pipette calibration
• Ensuring daily work is conducted in accordance with company policies concerning quality, ethics, integrity, and standards of business conduct
• Enhancing quality through regulatory compliance and operating procedures, quality audits, work accuracy, documentation and cGDP practices.
• Effectively using computers, software, and automation systems as required in performance of assigned duties.
• Accurately document and report all activities including Calibration Reports and Expense Reports per company procedures.
• Promoting safety of self, fellow employees, customers, and the environment
• Responsible for maintaining various types of equipment good working condition.
• Contributes to planning of work including recommending and implementing improved methods.
THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED
•Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, Word, and Access, with an emphasis on Excel.
•Must have attention to detail and ability to consistently demonstrate competency in assigned calibration tasks.
•Professional communication with an ability to resolve customer issues and defuse conflict.
•Position requires flexibility and adaptability.
•Capable of lifting (50 pounds) unassisted.
•Work independently in a high paced environment while managing difficult and high-pressure customer situations.
•Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
•Must have a valid drivers license and a reliable car. This position requires some day travel to other Battelle sites within a 20-mile radius of Columbus, Ohio. Extra mileage above and beyond normal travel to and from work is reimbursed.
Associate degree in related field; 1 year of applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
