Position Purpose

The Director of Operational & Maintenance Training is responsible for developing and executing training programs across non-pilot operational departments, including Dispatch, Maintenance, Trip Planning, Scheduling, and FBO/vendors. This role leads the instructor team, ensures regulatory and safety compliance, and promotes continuous improvement in training quality, engagement, and operational readiness. Collaboration across departments is essential to align training outcomes with safety, performance, and company culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage training delivery for maintenance, flight support, dispatch, scheduling, and vendor-facing staff.
  • Lead and support instructors, ensuring consistent, accurate training delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Courseware team to update training materials and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, DOT, OSHA, ICAO, and internal standards.
  • Plan and oversee onboarding, recurrent, and specialized training sessions.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback and assessments for continuous improvement.
  • Act as the main liaison with department leaders to meet operational training needs.
  • Support audit processes by maintaining instructor qualifications and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related field.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • 8-10 years of experience in aviation training or operations.
  • Leadership experience with training teams.
  • Knowledge of Part 135 operations, dispatch, maintenance, and international flight logistics.
  • Strong presentation and engagement skills.
  • Understanding of FAA, DOT, OSHA compliance requirements.
