AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers and equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the cloud services they rely on. We are seeking a Product Design Engineering Manager to lead the Electrical Solutions Product Design Engineering team, responsible for designing and operating products within our expanding data center footprint. This role can be based in Austin, TX; Seattle, WA; Herndon, VA; or Columbus, OH.

The team focuses on designing resilient, cost-effective electrical distribution products, aiming for world-class uptime. You will justify technical decisions to senior management and drive continuous improvements. This role involves working on multi-million dollar designs, supporting diverse customers, and engaging in international projects with some travel.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the product design engineering team in developing electrical infrastructure equipment.
• Collaborating with partner teams to improve designs and manage iterative decisions.
• Working with data center engineering, reliability, QA/QC, and compliance teams to develop well-rounded products.
• Ensuring designs meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards across regions.
• Managing multiple projects across different geographical areas.
• Providing strong leadership within the Electrical Solutions team and with external partners.

Basic qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in engineering or higher.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams in product design and certification of power distribution equipment.
• Knowledge of data center design trends and electrical infrastructure deployment.

Preferred qualifications:

• Leadership experience managing teams.
• Cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with protection/control schematics and manufacturing wiring drawings.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability, safety, and supply chain simplification.
• Ability to perform complex business case analyses and present findings to management.
