Exempt Position: Assistant Treasurer

Job Description: The Assistant Treasurer supports functions in the school district's finance department, which in turn, supports the entire school district. The role has a breadth of knowledge and experience in payroll, benefits, accounts receivable, budgetary, reporting and banking. Because of this wide variety of knowledge and responsibility, the Assistant Treasurer must be flexible and well organized.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field;
2. Three to five years experience in auditing, budgeting or finance preferred;
3. In-depth knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations;
4. High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills;
5. Satisfactory criminal background check in accordance with Ohio law; and
6. Such alternatives to the above as deemed by the Treasurer/CFO
a. School Treasurer License or willingness to obtain.
Essential Functions:
1. Completes monthly/annual reconciliations and filings;
2. Completes projects in a timely manner;
3. Posts/balances receipts and all accounts receivable transactions;
4. Budget development and day-to-day management, including grants;
5. Responsible for posting of various checks (memo) and payments;
6. Processes banking transactions and supports fraud prevention;
7. Assists with payroll related items of FMLA, COBRA and 1095 forms/paperwork;
8. Cross-trains with all other staff in Treasurer's Office and provides back-up support where needed;
9. Collaborate with Treasurer/CFO, Director of Employee Relations, Business Manager, Director of Operations, the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio and other central office staff on projects;
10. Maintains a positive attitude and works/interacts well with others;
11. Demonstrates sound judgement, emotional stability and confidentiality;
12. Uses office equipment such as computers, copiers and other clerical items;
13. Attends meetings and in-services as required by the Treasurer/CFO;
14. All other duties as assigned by the Treasurer/CFO.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in the use of computer applications including word processing and cloud based systems;
2. Ability to work collaboratively with others or individually to solve complex problems;
3. Excellent attention to detail, prioritization and paper/digital organization;
4. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
5. High proficiency in math with knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;

a. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
b. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent

6. Be adaptable to learn district-employed software. By way of example, this includes any specific technology the District uses, including Google Education software: Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Forms, Sheets, and Google Ed products;
7. Applications (apps) or devices used to calculate numbers or used for purposes of a dictionary, thesaurus, grammar correction, or other applications accessed for this position;
8. Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly, professionally and effectively both orally and in writing;
9. Effective active listening skills;
10. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situations, priorities and technologies.

Work schedule: 8 paid hours per day; 12 paid holidays, 260 days per year

Benefits: School Employees Retirement, Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. Vacation, Personal and Sick Leave.

Annual Salary: $77,642 - $119,798. Salary is highly commensurate with experience, within this wide range. Most offers are expected to fall toward the middle of the range, with the upper end reserved for candidates with exceptional qualifications and experience.
