The Director of Food Production Operations will be responsible for leading multiple departments and coordinating all aspects of food production, scheduling, warehousing, assembly, and sanitation. This position is directly responsible for producing quality products efficiently and providing direction and leadership for tactical as well as long term strategic initiatives. The Director is the operational site leader responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of the facility. The Director is also accountable for P/L development and management, capital planning, personnel development, and identifying and implementing process/system changes to drive efficiency gains and personnel safety.

  • Must demonstrate an extensive background in operations including project management, demonstrated ability to manage staffing, budgeting, process improvement and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate the annual operations plan for the facility including meeting production and budget targets.
  • Monitor department productivity/payroll budget
  • Establish unit standards and department productivity standards by area to set the department's budget goals and provide yearly budgeting and capital expense recommendations
  • Serve as liaison with Merchandising, Sales, Customer Service, and partner facilities
  • Ensure all products are completed as scheduled and meet quality standards
  • Adherence to all GMP and SQF standards within the department
  • Responsible for food safety and continuous improvement and quality within the location
  • Participation and implementation of LEAN Manufacturing
  • Partner with Finance to strategically plan holiday production needs and staffing requirements
  • Ensure all products are shipped on time and in the most efficient manner.
  • Develop or source new ideas, concepts, or equipment to further improve the efficiency and or quality of all products shipped. Participate and search for process improvements in all areas of gift production.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by retaining and developing world-class diverse talent.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a business-related field is required
  • 10+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment
  • 5+ years of Food Manufacturing leadership experience
  • Experience managing at least 300 non-exempt associates reporting indirectly to this position
  • Must have working knowledge of HACCP, GMP'S, and Kosher Certification
  • Strong proficiency in utilizing WMS programs
  • Experience with Oracle systems a plus
  • Experience with developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operations and financial objectives
  • Strong tactical management experience
