Act for administrator by independently providing program direction & relieving superior of variety of difficult administrative duties pertaining to the Ohio School Safety Center Student Initiatives Program:

  • Respond to programmatic issues &/or needs; Plan, write & implement program goals & objectives; Serve as a subject matter expert for stakeholder & student initiatives programs;
  • Assign, direct, coordinate, & set priorities for student work groups to achieve plans of action & awareness campaigns in a timely fashion;
  • Conduct monthly meetings with students on various campaigns, mentor & guide them on their capstone projects, prepare & assist them with meetings;
  • Formulate & implement policy & procedure related to student initiatives program or program areas; Develop &/or revise program as needed; Provide technical advice & recommendations to aid leadership in decision making; Provide program & policy information to members, government officials &/or the general public;
  • Prepare monthly reports, general correspondence & formulate letters; Represent the OSSC at meetings & conferences & provide information regarding student initiatives;
  • Serve as stakeholder outreach administrator;
  • Formulate & implement policies & procedures for stakeholder outreach events (e.g., develop &/or revise program as needed; provide technical advice & recommendations to aid leadership in decision making; provide program & policy information to members, government officials &/or the general public; tailor programming to target audience i.e., students both PreK-12 & Higher Ed);
  • Schedule & conduct regular meetings with stakeholders & participate in focus groups, education opportunities, trainings, & strategic initiatives related to outreach efforts;
  • Work with federal, state, & local partners on outreach efforts & campaigns;
  • Identify training, webinars, &/or courses that schools & first responders can participate in to highlight on the website & in newsletters;
  • Work with stakeholders for school safety summits, webinars, & other presentations for various disciplines (i.e., educators, administrators, school counselors & psychologists, students, first responders, etc.);
  • Partner with stakeholders to host virtual & in person events;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in business administration, management science or public administration. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position which involved limited research & public contact. If assigned to operate vehicles regulated by Section 4506.01 of Revised Code, applicants must also have valid commercial driver's license.
