The OSU Total Health and Wellness (THW) is a primary care practice that received Federally Qualified Health Center status in September 2019. The mission of the practice is to utilize an inter-professional TEAMcare approach to provide quality efficient care and management of both acute and chronic illnesses; care for the underserved population; and teach inter-professional care and best practices to multiple disciplines within the health sciences.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a professional nurse who provides nursing care to the patients at The Ohio State University Total Health and Wellness, a Federally Qualifies Health Center (FQHC). The LPN serves as one of the primary initial contacts with clinical services by providing patient care, obtaining the patient's reason for their visit, getting vital signs and other clinical information, assisting providers with procedures, administering injections and other medications, carrying out clinical orders, and documenting all information in the electronic health record.
The selected candidate may have the opportunity to participate in the LPN to BSN Program through the Ohio State College of Nursing. This program is for individuals who are current LPNs interested in expanding their careers to become an RN and earn the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BSN). The program prepares students for success through academic training, clinical practice, and direct support and mentorship from world renowned experts.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Practical Nursing. Licensed Practical Nurse. 0 years of relevant experience is required, but having 1-2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
