Description:

The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for a Reporting and Analytics Consultant position focused on statistical analysis. The successful candidate will engage in applied health services and population health research within a project-based team setting, providing expertise and support for multiple administrative data and survey projects.

Position Requirements

This role requires advanced experience with statistics, ideally in population health research or a similar area. Responsibilities include leading methodological development and implementing sophisticated statistical analyses, such as:

  1. Regression modeling with generalized linear mixed models
  2. Designing and applying survey weights
  3. Understanding causal inference
  4. Communicating results effectively through visual and written means
  5. Mentoring and training less experienced staff

Additional project-specific tasks may involve analyzing EHR data, healthcare claims, Medicaid administrative data, or survey data; developing interactive visualizations with R Shiny; preparing reports and presentations; reviewing subcontractor work; conducting literature reviews; developing protocols and IRB applications; and designing data collection instruments.

Expectations

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading complex research projects as a co-PI or PI
  2. Determining methods for new projects
  3. Developing new practices, metrics, or models
  4. Applying technical knowledge across projects
  5. Guiding colleagues and stakeholders
  6. Communicating complex information effectively

Minimum Education and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in health sciences, statistics, or related field.

Experience: At least 6 years relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or 4 years with an advanced degree. Proven expertise in statistical analysis in applied settings. Experience with external stakeholders is required. Must pass background checks and pre-employment screening.

Preferred Qualifications

An advanced degree in a statistical or mathematical field is preferred. Experience with R, R Shiny dashboards, and health system clients (e.g., Ohio Department of Medicaid) is desirable. Experience in health services or population health research is also preferred.
