Who We Want… (Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational or environmental health and safety (or similar) with at least 5 years of related construction safety experience or training, or 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Leadership skills to foster a cohesive and successful team.
  • Experience in light/heavy industrial construction.
  • Ability to identify potential exposures and lead corrective actions.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • NCSO certification and Advanced First Aid are strongly preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as the on-site Safety Officer.
  • Monitor and inspect the job site for health and safety compliance, identifying hazards.
  • Implement safety policies and discuss issues with project teams.
  • Provide safety training to all onsite employees.
  • Establish and promote a safety culture aligned with Gray's program.
  • Mentor new safety team members and review contractor safety programs.
  • Maintain safety records and assist in developing safety and emergency plans.
  • Resolve workforce grievances related to safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
