Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer with manufacturing background for a Direct hire job with a client in Columbus, OH . You will design and implement scalable data pipelines and architectures, ensuring reliable, high-quality manufacturing data systems; candidates must have hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and strong SQL and AWS big data skills.

Salary Range: $110K/year to $120K/year; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Data Engineer with manufacturing background job responsibilities include:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support manufacturing analytics and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, R&D, IT) to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Ensure data integrity and quality by extracting, cleaning, and integrating data from multiple manufacturing systems and sensors.
• Implement and manage Industry 4.0/IoT applications for predictive maintenance, process optimization, and performance monitoring.
• Develop dashboards and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to provide actionable insights into manufacturing operations.
• Support and optimize cloud-based infrastructure using AWS and big data tools for efficient data storage and access.
• Troubleshoot data system issues, automate manual processes, and continuously improve data delivery and infrastructure scalability.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines and architectures using SQL and AWS big data technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with manufacturing data systems, including SCADA/MES, and familiarity with Industry 4.0/IoT applications.
