Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced High-Performance Computing (HPC) Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize their HPC environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex technical environments and enjoys collaborating with researchers and IT teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and data integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain software applications and operating systems on HPC clusters

• Perform hardware monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance

• Manage secure and efficient data storage solutions, including movement between systems

• Collaborate with researchers, developers, and IT teams to enhance system performance

• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and best practices

• Clearly document system configurations, updates, and operational procedures

• Use ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems to manage incidents and requests

• Respond promptly to system issues and team inquiries


Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Proven experience managing HPC clusters or large-scale computing environments

• Proficient in Linux administration and troubleshooting

• Familiarity with job schedulers (e.g., Slurm, PBS, Torque)

• Experience with parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS) and data transfer technologies

• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python)

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and install hardware components up to 50 lbs

• Comfortable working in data center environments
