Job Title: Site Safety Manager
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 2 Years
Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Compensation:
• Hourly Rate: $48 - $50/hr
• Per Diem: Not offered
• Pay: Weekly
Schedule:
• Hours: 40 hours/week | Monday - Friday
Project Scope:
Oversee mechanical operations with a focus on HVAC system installation, including sheet metal hanging, ductwork, and pipework activities. Act as the primary safety lead, coordinating safety measures for subcontractors and trades on-site.
Qualifications:
• OSHA 510 Certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• 3-5+ years of safety experience in construction and mechanical environments
• Experience leading safety efforts on active job sites
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine safety inspections and orientations for field personnel
• Monitor mechanical installation tasks for safety compliance
• Enforce OSHA standards and site-specific safety protocols
• Coordinate with foremen, superintendents, and client representatives
• Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions
• Provide toolbox talks and safety training as needed
• Ensure safety best practices are followed across pipework, ductwork, and sheet metal activities
Skills:
• Clear communication and ability to lead safety discussions
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic digital safety platforms
• Ability to problem-solve on-site safety issues in real time
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
Knowledge:
Demonstrated understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards, mechanical systems safety, and hazard mitigation within HVAC and piping operations.
