Ensure all safety standards are met in the tool room. Oversee the tooling department and ensure all tooling processes are running smoothly. Develop and implement tooling policies and procedures for the department. Ensure all tooling equipment is maintained and repaired as needed. Train and supervise tooling technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their job duties. Collaborate with other departments to ensure tooling needs are met for new product development and production. Ensure the tooling department meets production schedules and quality standards. Monitor priorities and manage work orders to best apply resources to ensure top tooling actions are met in a timely manner. If tooling contractors become necessary, manage their workload. Manage tooling material inventory, monitor tooling costs and make recommendations for cost savings. Stay up to date on industry developments and technological advancements in tooling.
