What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.
Job Summary
The Inbound Production Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth flow of materials into the facility. They are responsible for scheduling all deliveries, managing the Inbound Planning Tool, and communicating with various stakeholders, including leadership, associates, external carriers, and vendors. They also participate in quarterly and year-end buys, handle a high volume of communication, and forecast daily pallet volume by shift. This individual is highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, ensuring that materials arrive on time to meet production needs.

Responsibilities
Responsible for scheduling all recurring and non-recurring Inbound deliveries to the facility and updating the Inbound Planning Tool.
Communicates with leadership and associates about goals/deliveries for the day/week/months.
Communicates with external carriers, dispatchers on trucking delays.
Partners w/ Holiday Planning team and Corporate Inventory Team and plans Inbound workload through Holiday Builds.
Participates in quarterly buys and year-end buys.
Builds relationships and communicates with vendors/carriers/inventory management team.
Fields a high-volume of telephone calls and emails with external carriers and suppliers.
Multi shift planning for level-load; balancing Inbound volume to match shift capacity.
Communicates w/ QRA on temperature discrepancies
Daily forecasted pallet volume by shift and communicates out to the team.
Willing to adjust schedule, as necessary, to meet business needs.
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience, preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Comfort working with heights 20-30 ft regularly
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift
Ability to follow direction and change priorities
Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with technologies, like computers or point of sale systems, a plus
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Basic proficiency in English is required, including being able to read and write in English in order to process documents.
