Job Title: Laborer

Type: Full-Time, Benefit Eligible

Job Location: Central Ohio Projects

Typical Pay Range: $18 - $25 /per Hour

As a Laborer at Layton Services, your role will assist with various tasks on construction sites. No prior experience is required, but basic knowledge of construction a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Works with a team
• Assists skilled workers as assigned
• Prepare trenches by digging, grading and compacting as needed
• Help install trench shoring, safety equipment, and follow all safety protocols
• Use hand and power tools, such as shovels, rakes, tampers and saws
• Load, unload and transport materials around the job site
• Assist with pipe alignment, bedding and sealing
• Maintain a clean and organized job site
• Sets safety example by following proper OSHA guidelines at all times
• Perform general labor and all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of construction a plus but not necessary
• Valid Driver's License or State ID
• Knowledge of basic tools and equipment used in construction
• Willingness to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
• Ability to work in trenches and confined spaces
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
• Certifications (can be obtained once hired): OSHA 10
