The ideal candidate will be responsible for using their analytical mindset to analyze and interpret financial data, then relating it to potential business trends and issues. This candidate will feel comfortable using insights they have discovered to communicate important themes and discoveries to company leadership.

Responsibilities

• Apply a working knowledge of GAAP accounting standards during the month-end close process.
• Performing day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas.
• Assisting assigned businesses with understanding the actual financial outcome compared to forecast and providing analyses to help them proactively meet target goals.
• Perform reporting on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Responsible to present client specific margin analysis to Finance and Business Units.
• Benchmarking results against prior periods/alternative data sources.
• Utilizing analytics and trends to better understand past performance and forecast expectations.
• Identifying opportunities for financial improvements and processes.
• Responsible to work with Finance Leads in preparation of the annual budget.
• Understanding revenue recognition and making recommendations on specific transactions & process.
• Researching and comparing variance analysis and explanations.
• Building a strong rapport with operating partners.
• Being an expert user of all applicable systems (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Access, etc.).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance or equivalent experience
• 2 - 5 years' financial analysis and modeling experience
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
