What will you do as the Senior Merchant of Leagues & Collegiate at HOMAGE?

We are seeking a talented and experienced Merchant specializing in storytelling and assortment curation to join our team. This role will specifically involve working within our Leagues/Collegiate business, requiring a deep-seated enthusiasm for sports that encompasses both its rich history and current developments.

The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of customers' culture, trends and the retail landscape, with the ability to strike the right balance between hot market chase and seasonal planning. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping our product strategy and driving the success of our business.

Assortment Curation:

• Curate a compelling and cohesive assortment of products that align with our brand identity and resonate with our target audience
• Develop engaging product narratives and merchandising strategies that evoke emotion and connect with customers on a deeper level.
• Stay informed about cultural trends, consumer behaviors and industry developments to inform assortment decisions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies for hot market chase and seasonal collections.
• Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure product availability, competitive pricing strategies, and healthy margins.
• Analyze sales data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of merchandising strategies and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Collaborate with marketing, operations and ecommerce teams to execute merchandising strategies and campaigns effectively.

Merchandising Strategy

• Develop a comprehensive assortment architecture that balances speed to market with longer lead time commitments.
• Conduct thorough market research, analyzing customer preferences and identifying emerging trends to inform assortment decisions.
• Continuously evaluate the performance of product assortments and make recommendations for adjustments. This may involve assortment rationalization, SKU optimization and the introduction of new product categories to drive sales and profitability.
• Collaborate with planning teams to develop pricing strategies that balance competitive positioning with margin objectives. This includes conducting pricing analysis, monitoring market trends and identifying pricing opportunities to maximize revenue and profitability.
• Stay informed about the competitive landscape to ensure our strategies remain relevant and competitive in the market.

General Duties

• Participates in company meetings/events/classes if necessary.
• Support departmental or cross-functional on projects when it is requested.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What are we looking for in the Senior Merchant of Leagues & Collegiate?

• 5+ years of proven experience in Merchandising
• Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling
• Deep understanding of customer culture, trends and the retail landscape.
• Strong analytical skills with interpreting data and drawing actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
