2025 Camp Season
Work up to 40 hours per week from June 2-August 1
**With the possibility to work Extended Camp Weeks through August 8**
Typical working hours during camp season are Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, but may vary slightly
Mandatory Supervisor Training Dates: April 27 & May 4 (PAID!)
Mandatory All Staff Training Dates: May 27-31 (PAID!)

Examples of Duties Duties of Camp Supervisors include, but are not limited to:
Working With Campers- Design, deliver and evaluate camp programs that meet the needs and interests of campers to ensure their delivery in a safe and quality manner
- Remain current with information on the developmental needs of youth and apply them in the camp setting
- Anticipate and minimize potential problems with staff, campers or the environment and respond effectively to problems that occur
- Apply camp policies and procedures in responding and/or disciplining staff and campers
- Demonstrate ability to take initiative, effectively communicate with children and adults and manage large and small groups
- Seek and analyze input from campers, families and staffregarding the quality, safety, and enjoyment of the program
- Ensure full curriculum implementation
- Manage camper and counselor records to ensure well-being and compliance with local laws and accreditation standards
- Oversee supply procurement while remaining within operating budget
- Maintain the safety and well-being of all camp staff and campers by following camp policies and procedures
- Communicate and problem solve calmly and respectfully with families, facility staff and DCRC full-time staff
- Assist in the implementation of staff training and train other staff in their responsibilities while at your program area
- Maintain camper discipline, in an appropriate manner, to achieve camp objectives
- Ensure campers and staff follow safety procedures
- Ensure the security of equipment and supplies including clear inventory and planning for replacement of supplies in a timely manner
- Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in assigned camp location
- Conduct a daily check of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair
- Clean program area, keeping it free of hazards and debris
- Serve as a positive role model for all campers, staff and parents in your attitude and behavior
- Regular, predictable and punctual attendance is required
- Demonstrate appropriate behavior to camp participants, camp parents, and co-workers
- Strive for inclusion of all camp participants in all scheduled activities
- Interact with campers, staff and parents in a fair and positive manner
- Stay alert to campers needs and assist them with personal and/or health problems
- Work cooperatively with other camp counselors, Assistant Supervisors, and fulltime city of Dublin staff to create a safe and enjoyable camp experience that keep campers involved and having fun
- Develop individual campers' and staff members' independence, self-esteem and peer relationships in the summer camp environment
- Assist campers in adjusting to the camp environment and to each other
- Help campers plan their camp program by obtaining their input
Working With Staff- Set the example of Recreation Services' Workplace Expectations:
- Demonstrate positive energy, trust co-workers, be solution-oriented and hold yourself and others accountable
- Abide by mandatory reporting policies as described in the staff manual
- Relationships: Camp Supervisors work very closely with all camp staff and serve as the staff liaison to the Camps Coordinator
- Observe, evaluate and review camp staff job performance
- Participate and assist in the implementation of program activities for campers
- Actively participate and assist other staff in all program areas as assigned including, but not limited to: field trips, swimming, songs, games and All Camp activities
- Assist other staff in program areas such as Logistics, Arts & Crafts, Sports & Games, and Outdoor Education
- Effectively communicate problems or concerns to Camps Program Coordinator
Typical Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Degree in recreation, education or related field; OR three or more years of significant supervisory experience in a large camp environment (20+ staff, 200+ campers, 8+ successive camp weeks)
- Availability to attend all mandatory training dates
- Ability and experience to lead and supervise others (campers and camp staff)
- Willing to work under direct supervision
- Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Full-time supervisory experience managing complex staff and situations
- Five or more years of previous camp experience (in any role)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for occasional facility/operational/safety needs
- Ability to operate standard office equipment in performing essential functions of work
