The Security Department is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate. Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Associate will oversee the acceptance and cataloging of deliveries from mail carriers and distributing packages throughout Nationwide Arena.

This is a Part-Time, First Shift position covering the hours of 9:00am to 3:00pm, up to (30) hours and (5) days per week. Hours and days worked may vary on occasion based on venue need at the discretion of the Director of Security & Emergency Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee the acceptance and delivery of packages throughout the building; including following up with Partners regarding their packages, troubleshooting package acceptance and delivery as required, and serving as an overall resource for applicable parties.
  • Review all communication associated with package delivery and ensure documentation for packages received, including shipping labels and bills of lading when applicable, align with internal communication.
  • Implement cataloging and organization system to track package deliveries, storage, and distribution.
  • Coordinate large shipments within the building to the loading dock area.
  • Uncrate large shipments, when required, and properly dispose of or store containers and packaging.
  • Ensure loading dock and all back of house areas remain orderly and clear whenever possible from packages received.
  • Under the oversight of the Security Operations Center, ensure the safety, security and a positive experience for our Guests, Contractors, and Employees of Nationwide Arena. Uphold department and organization policies for Nationwide Arena, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Delaware North Sportservice in a positive and professional manner.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Proven familiarity with package handling equipment including but not limited to pallets, plastic wrap, hand carts and pallet jacks.
  • Demonstrate experience with package tracking websites and/or software desired.
  • Forklift operation certification, or the ability and willingness to obtain one.
  • Capacity to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and move shipments of 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization and Guests.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer functions.
  • Valid driver's license required.


Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); experience with the acceptance and delivery of packages in a large venue; current or previous experience working in a position which requires alertness at all times with exemplary results; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
