Job Title: Access Specialist, College of Engineering

Department: Student Life | Disability Services

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote universal design for learning practices and reduce barriers.
  • Maintain a caseload of students registered with SLDS from the college and engage in outreach and consultation.
  • Contribute to college-based student support and consultation teams, providing disability-related expertise.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 2 years of professional work experience in student development, disabilities services, and/or student support.
  • Experience in creating educational offerings focused on disabilities or access.
  • Experience building cross‑campus partnerships.
  • Experience in creating or overseeing student support or educational programs.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Desired:

  • 4 to 8 years of professional experience in higher education, non‑profit or disability access roles.
  • Public speaking and creation of accessible content.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and university policies related to disability services.
  • Familiarity with SLDS services, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret psychoeducational assessments.
  • Experience designing workshops and support programs for students with disabilities.

Additional Information

Hiring range: $51,500 to $67,250.
